!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The Ford fanboys are ridiculous. They can't get over the fact that it is in fact a good truck. The GM fanboy backlash isn't much better though. And they keep comparing this to the new F-150 for some reason.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

One Ford fanboy keeps saying it's a Korean truck. Funny, cause it's built about 15 minutes from where I live. Which last I checked isn't Korea.

Kinja'd!!!

I can't believe these people get so serious over whether a truck is good or not. Can't we all just get along and not bash each others companies?

I'd rather have this but we can't have it for some reason. (sorry I prefer Fords to Chevs)

Kinja'd!!!

But I can't say the Chevy is a bad truck especially since we will be able to get it with a baby Duramax.

Dear god that's a pretty truck.

Ford/Chevy debate is so ridiculous I can't help but question the sanity of the participants. One of the reasons I stay far away from any tug-of-war truck videos is the screaming hordes of powerstroke vs duramax, ford vs chevy, etc. assholes.

I saw one in person at a Chevy dealer last week. It is BIG! Well, it's big for a small truck. That's probably why they keep comparing it to the F150. I was more enamored with the Z/28 Camaro next to it, though, so I may have missed a few details.

same here, I love small trucks and Ford over Chevy. When I was looking to replace my Sport Trac, used Sport Tracs were about the same price and close MPG's to F-150's. At that point the only real difference is size and capability which I didn;t need extra of either. The smaller trucks are awesome but I dont see the point when u can get a full size for the same price and performance.

I love the sport trac but those are still quite expensive even today. Wouldn't mind having a sport trac adrenalin.

I'm the guy that would pay the same amount for the smaller truck vs the bigger truck. smaller Size/mpg matters more to me than max towing, ect.

Every single truck article, review, preview, instagram photo, facebook post, YouTube video, hell, just a truck related comment, sparks a wildfire of fanboy fueled rage of one brand's bitch going after the other. The manufacturers don't care, their trucks are still selling like hot cakes.

I owned a Tacoma once. You just can't talk about your truck on the Internet without it being bashed by someone .

I just read the comments for their comedy factor. So much butthurt for both side. It's a debate that goes so far back though. Shit, I had a video game called Ford vs Chevy.

Kinja'd!!! OPPOsaurus WRX > Luc - The Acadian Oppo

thats the thing tho, those suck on gas so your paying the same and overall getting less.

http://autos.aol.com/cars-compare?c…

it actually shows the sport Trac and 1 MPG worse than an F-150, less power, less everything. less than a $5k price difference. when you go used, the Sport Tracs were so hard to find that they were about the same price as a comparable F-150. And thats how I ended up with a WRX.

I really think the only thing stopping them from bringing that to North America is the stupid Chicken Tax. I would totally be okay with both Ford and Ram bringing their own mid-sized trucks into the game. Revitalize the segment from three to five or more.

It really isn't supposed to be a small truck. More mid-sized. Still though, I've seen one in person and it's certainly bigger than a Taco.

We can't have it because it would be too close in PRICE to the F150 and no one would buy it. (This is straight from the mouths of Ford Exec's). The cost of getting that the Ranger set up in the US is high, and it would end up being a grand or so less than the F150, so people would just buy the F150 because it's a huge capability "upgrade" at barely any cost.

I wish they'd sell it here, I'd own one. I don't want or need the extra capability of the F150. And I've actually driven it, it's the ride height of an F150 but THAT'S IT. The interior is noticeably smaller, especially width wise. It was awesome though.

I'll be buying a Canyon/Colorado in 3 years or so once they are used and the first run problems are worked out.

A truer comment has never been typed.

I for one like pretty much every truck in the segment in certain details. I like the Frontier's styling, the Tacoma's size, the Colorado's engine and interior, etc...

I don't get why the GM vs Ford vs Ram guys don't just team up and laugh at Toyota and Nissan truck offerings. Wouldn't that be a better usage of their time?!

I still don't get why the stupid chicken tax is still in effect. that antiquated law is ridiculous. I much prefer mid size trucks to full size. I just need a truck for a few runs at the hardware store and occasional landscaping projects. In all reality even a kei truck would do what I need it to do.

Kinja'd!!!

To me big trucks are a dickwaving contest and nothing more. I'm the anti bro I guess.

If I were going to get a truck, I'd first look at manual availability, then MPG, then actual utility, costs of parts, etc... I could care less what brand it is. Crappy companies can make excellent breakthrough products and well established brands can screw up.

When I first saw it I actually didn't realize it was NOT a Silverado, until I took a closer look. I knew something wasn't quite right, then realized what I was looking at.

Same here! Even if it was the same price as a F150 I'd rather have the Ranger. Big trucks are pointless(unless you actually use it to work with which 80% of the people don't).

I haven't driven it but I have checked one out in the Philippines and its fantastic.

I don't understand why the Chicken Tax exists or why the whole world doesn't adopt one standard for crash testing and fuel economy. It would be so much easier for companies to have the same lineup worldwide.

I'm the same way, I don't need a full-size Silverado, it's pointlessly big for what I'd do with it. The Colorado is perfect.

Yea I drove basically the one you posted above, XLT but in Gray with no roll bar.

It was a stick.

It was great.

Yeah I just want to tow once a year and throw some stuff in the back every once in a while. Not haul weekly or even monthly. I know people will say "just rent a truck then" but I'd rather have the Colorado 4x4 V6 which gets 1 mpg less than my Mercury Milan V6. It's 100% practical for daily driving.

No, the Ridgeline is a car with a bed. The Colorado is a mid-sized truck. That's like my calling a Ranger a car with a bed because it's not a full-size truck. Which is stupid.

There is one at the Chevy dealership near my house. I don't get the point of it. It looks maybe SLIGHTLY smaller than the Silverado it is parked beside. Also, it was recalled before it was even put on sale, so whether or not it is a reliable truck is still on the table. I don't think it will be great until a certain 4-cylider goes on sale.

Kinja'd!!! Logansteno: Bought a VW? > Jordan and the Slowrunner, Boomer Intensifies
11/10/2014 at 14:34

Kinja'd!!!0

It's not supposed to be drastically smaller. It is something like 4.6 inches narrower than the Silverado. As for the recall, I'd rather it happen before it goes on sale then getting a letter in the mail a week into ownership. It has GM's standard issue 3.6, which isn't unreliable as far as I've heard. Other than early timing chain issues on early CTSes.

Reliability isn't just the engine aspect, it is everything from the electronics to how long will it take before it starts burning through oil. Also, what is the point of building a truck that is only minutely smaller than something you have on sale? I was going to say that doesn't cost much less, but did they fucking raise the price for 2015 on the Silverado? The 4X4 V6 double cab starts at nearly 35k.

Actually the Taco is a couple to a few inches shorter, and about 300 pounds lighter in any configuration.

Probably for sales purposes. Who is going to buy a non-Cummins equipped Ram when they can get an F150 for less? If they price their truck below competition, that should up their sales number.

That's definitely true, and I hate bloat as much as you do. However, there is nothing smaller in the new truck market in America, and it seems like a perfectly good vehicle aside from its size.

I wish someone would build a small pickup someone my size (over six feet, overweight) could enter/exit and ride in comfortably. Bought my 1990 Isuzu p/u in part because the cab was larger than cabs on any other compact trucks that I tried. It fit my needs perfectly (commuting and yard/household hauling.
